My name is Arianna Alvero, and I am currently a student at the City College of New York. I was majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and have come to learn it is not something I wish to pursue anymore. I will be transferring to Queens College fo the Spring 2019 semester.

In this Engl11000 course, I have had to learn different styles of writing. The rhetorical situation is one of the styles I was taught. It taught me to write an analysis of a text in regards to characteristics such as exigence, audience, and genre. A research paper was also included in the course, which is one of my strengths coming into this course. I was able to pose a question or statement and to formulate an argument with research to back up my claim. We were given to opportunity to choose a topic of interest for our research paper, which allowed me to become very passionate and eager to write the paper. For our last assignment, we got to choose our own two genres in regards to our research topic, allowing me to be very creative.
